Kids In Daily Situations is a program designed to positively impact the lives of children and youth in our community. The KIDS program is designed to help children overcome their environmental, emotional, and educational obstacles.
We recognize the importance of building character and believe that healthy, respected relationships shared between children and mentors will truly impact the life of a child. This program takes place in a professional, supportive, and loving environment where participants will gain character-building skills and receive one-on-one mentoring from a caring mentor.

Develop and sustain an interest in learning
Improve their grades by instilling helpful study tips and strategies
Raise their self-esteem
KIDS is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 1st.
KIDS will continue to meet every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30pm until 5:30pm, throughout the remainder of the school year (with the exception of holidays). KIDS is free and provides a snack, dinner, and transportation.
KIDS CHILD PROTECTION AND DISCIPLINE GUIDELINES
All children and their mentors are placed in a safe and visible environment. We believe in a “Two Deep Rule" which means that we aim to keep children in the sight of two workers at all times.
Children can ONLY be released to their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) at their home address. If the parent or guardian is not at home when the child arrives home beginning at 5:30pm, transportation will no longer be provided.
The KIDS Program will not allow any child over the age of 14 to participate in the program at this time.
The Program Director or Assistant Director must be notified if the child is going to be absent on a scheduled Tuesday afternoon.
KIDS believes in implementing positive discipline techniques.
All KIDS mentors, volunteers, and employees begin by praising the desired behavior (i.e. "good listening," "thank you for waiting", etc).
A firm but gentle voice is used to address and redirect inappropriate behavior (i.e. "you are running, please walk"). All requests are stated in a positive and encouraging manner, explaining the behavior we expect to see.
We believe in positive words. We will give each participating child 3 chances to follow the rules and choose appropriate behavior. However, if a child's behavior becomes disruptive to the safety, fun, and interaction of the other children and leaders, a meeting with the parent will be required. If the child continues to be a discipline problem, the child will be asked to leave the program.
At this time, we are serving the White Hall and Dollarway School Districts. If you would like to enroll your child in the KIDS program please fill out the following registration/permission forms and return it to Daniel Newman by Wednesday, September 26th. If you have any inquiries or need further information, please contact Program Director, Daniel Newman @ 870-489-6306 as soon as possible. Please remember that the program space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis.
